Downtown Design Guidelines

The City of Princeton has established design guidelines for the downtown business district to help preserve the character of Princeton's buildings while enhancing the appeal of downtown, ensuring the long-term success of the downtown area. These guidelines are not rigid requirements, but rather recommendations for business owners considering exterior improvements that contribute to the overall character and charm of downtown Princeton.

Businesses that have received facade grant funding have made a variety of improvements, including adding murals to their exterior, installing colorful awnings, and enhancing exterior features to improve the overall appearance of their businesses.

The city has a facade grant opportunity available for those who wish to establish a local business, make exterior design improvements, or further enhance their business.
