City Road Project - 3rd St North Reconstruction

**8/13/2026 UPDATE: 3rd Street Reconstruction** 

Construction Look Ahead:

  • August 17: Temporary water will be hooked up to the houses outside on spigots.
  • August 18: Sanitary sewer construction will start on 7th Ave. and move towards 10 Ave.

Access will be limited where excavation is occurring throughout the day and alternate routes will be required. Access to properties will be maintained at the end of each workday.

Crews are continuing to mobilize construction equipment in the project area. Please use caution. Thank you for patience and cooperation during construction.


Residents can expect increased construction traffic and equipment in the project area as work gets underway. Access impacts and additional construction updates will be provided as work progresses and schedules are confirmed.

Mille Lacs County Road Project - County Road 31 / 1st Street

Mille Lacs County Road Project:
COUNTY ROAD 31 / 1ST STREET Road Project will start on July 8th, 2026. It is projected to be finished up by the end of August.

Initial Construction Phase: They will be starting this week with saw cutting and pedestrian ramp improvements. This part of the project is projected to last about 4 weeks.  Construction hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Project Update (8-13-2026):

Construction crews will be paving the road from 21st to the Highway, weather permitting.

Traffic Impacts

  • The traffic signal at Rum River Drive and 1st Street will intermittently operate as a flashing red signal, requiring motorists to treat the intersection as an all-way stop during construction activities.
  • Motorists should expect temporary delays and are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the work zone.

Parking Restrictions

To accommodate paving operations, no parking will be allowed along 1st Street during the following dates:

  • Monday, August 10 through Thursday, August 13
  • Monday, August 17

Please follow all posted signs and parking restrictions to help ensure the work can be completed safely and efficiently.
